There is no legal obstruction for General to enter Parliament – Vijithe Herath

Quoting the Constitution Mr. Herath pointed out that Gen. Sarath Fonseka does not have any barrier to be elected to the Parliament.

Savage attack with police assistance on ‘fast unto death’

A group of people in civil clothes who had come in two buses broke into the area several Bhikkus were engaged in a ‘Fast unto death’ demanding the release of Gen. Sarath Fonseka and abducted the Bhikkus this afternoon after carrying out a savage attack on them. The goons in civilian clothes carried out the abduction with the protection of the police who had been deployed at the site since this morning.
